Basic Braille
The Basic Braille is a plain and portable Braille display at a reasonable price. In its standard version the Basic Braille is equipped with 40 Braille cells. Optionally also available with 64, 80 and 84 Braille elements. We optimized our production techniques further to be able to offer our customers a solid device at the highest quality standards, made in Germany. The casing body of the Basic Braille is made of durable, anodized Aluminum. The side parts are made of a premium quality, nonslip plastic. The Braille elements as well as the pins used for this device are especially durable. The Basic Braille was designed to be a durable and reliable device that will allow you to gain access to computer systems as well as your portable communication devices.

Easy to use

Basic Braille 40There are only 3 keys to the right and left side of the Braille elements, which does make handling the Basic Braille very easy and straight forward. While you use one hand to navigate you can use the other to read on the Braille display. The cursor routing keys are integrated in the Braille elements and can be used to position the cursor at a desired position within the text.

Wide range of applications

Basic Braille different modelsThe Basic Braille’s flexible design made it possible to create various versions that cover a wide range of possible applications. The 40-Braille-elements version, for example, is ideal to be used with a laptop computer and the 64-Braille-element version fits perfect to a standard computer keyboard. The Basic Braille is also available with 32, 80 or 84 Braille elements. All versions do have a flat design and can be comfortably placed in front of a computer keyboard or laptop.

Universal access

The Basic Braille works with all common screen readers like Window-Eyes, Hal/SuperNova, NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver by Apple computers. Screen readers allow people with visual impairment to access computer systems via a combination of a Braille display and voice output. The Basic Braille is connected via USB to your computer and no extra power supply is needed. As the Basic Braille uses HID technology (Human Interface Device), it is ready to use without the need of having to install any software. Thanks to HID the computer will recognize the Basic Braille once you connected it with your computer.

Optional with Bluetooth

Basic Braille controling mobile phoneThe Basic Braille is optionally available with wireless Bluetooth connection technology. This version allows you to also use the Basic Braille with portable devices, such as mobile phones, tablet PCs and iPhones. It is equipped with a high-performance lithium-ion battery, which is recharged via the USB connector. You can charge the Basic Braille using a standard Micro-USB mobile phone adapter, or the charging plug included in the scope of supplies.
